1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Article Helper mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Article Helper is a mobile application designed to help users learn German articles (der, die, das) through:

  • Word management functionality (add, delete, favorite German words)
  • AI-powered article prediction using Firebase AI with Vertex AI Gemini
  • Local data storage for learning progress
  • Multi-language interface support

3. User Accounts and Registration

  • The App does not require user registration or account creation
  • All data is stored locally on your device
  • No personal identification is required to use the core features

4. Use License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Download and install the App on your personal mobile device
  • Use the App for personal, non-commercial educational purposes
  • Access the App's features and functionality as provided

Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

  • Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
  • Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

5. AI Service and Limitations

Demo Version Limitations

  • The App provides up to 50 AI-powered article predictions in the demo version
  • AI predictions use Firebase AI with Vertex AI Gemini 2.5 Flash model
  • AI request usage is tracked and displayed within the App
  • Once the limit is reached, AI-powered predictions will no longer be available

AI Accuracy

  • While our AI strives for accuracy, it may occasionally provide incorrect predictions
  • The App is an educational tool and should not be solely relied upon for critical language learning needs
  • We recommend verifying important information with authoritative German language resources

6. Content and Data

User-Generated Content

  • Users can add German words to the App (maximum 40 characters per word)
  • The App stores up to 15 most recent words locally on your device
  • You are responsible for any content you add to the App
  • Words must contain only valid German letters (a-z, ä, ö, ü, ß)

App Content

  • All educational content, design elements, and functionality are owned by the App developer
  • German language rules and article assignments are based on standard German grammar

7. Data Storage and Ownership

  • Your word lists are stored locally using database
  • You retain ownership of any data you input into the App
  • The App developer does not claim ownership of user-entered words
  • Data may be backed up locally on your device according to your device settings

8. Firebase Services

The App integrates the following Firebase services:

  • Firebase Analytics: Tracks app usage patterns and behavior (anonymous)
  • Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports for app stability improvements
  • Firebase AI (Vertex AI): Powers intelligent article predictions
  • Firebase Performance: Monitors app performance metrics

These services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase Terms of Service.

9. Feedback and Communications

  • Users can provide feedback via email through the App's feedback feature
  • By submitting feedback, you grant us the right to use and incorporate your suggestions
